Learning a foreign language takes time and practice. Here are some language- learning tips that may help you as you learn a new language:

• Go to class and participate;
• Study every day! (Saturdays and Sundays are days, too :D)
• Learn and review new vocabulary;
• Do your homework!
• Buy a good dictionary (or find a good online dictionary);
• Read, speak, and listen to the language in many ways (watch movies, tv series, read books, etc.);
• Learn Portuguese grammar if you don't know it ( know what verbs, nouns, adjectives, adverbs, direct objects are);
• Be prepared to make mistakes;
• Begin to think in a foreign language;
• Have fun with the language! :)

Studying for tests:

• Study for Tests Efficiently: Study for what you have to do on the test. If it’s a listening test, practice listening. If it’s a grammar test, study the grammatical structures. Write sentences. Different from classes with multiple choice questions,you have to produce in language classes.
